Deepen your knowledge of all things 中国人, lighting the way to abundant careers in today’s global age. You’ll master spoken 和 written M和arin systems with guidance from Carthage’s Target Language Experts — native 中国人 speakers who bring energy 和 authenticity to their classes. You’ll also be steeped in the 文化, 政治, 宗教, 和 economy of 中国 和 broader East Asia. 专业 also study in a 中国人-speaking country for at least a semester.
The 中国人 program at Carthage goes beyond mastering the language. It is a four-year program with curriculum courses in 中国人 history, 电影, 政治, 文化, 和 Asian 宗教.
Carthage offers a major 和 minor in 中国人. Students who study 中国人 at Carthage will enjoy 小类, individualized attention, 和 a program centered on helping students achieve their personal 和 professional goals. You’ll be guided by dedicated 教授 和 Target Language Experts, who bring authenticity to their 教学 as native speakers from 中国人-speaking countries 和 regions like Taiwan, 香港, 中国, 和新加坡.

During the weekly 中国人 Lunch Table, students chat in 中国人 with each other, 教授, Target Language Experts, 和 international students from 中国.

中国的俱乐部 is a student-run organization that hosts meetings 和 events for students interested in 中国. Exp和 your knowledge of 中国 和 its 文化 outside of class. International students from 中国 are regular 和 integral members of the club.

教师 from various academic departments at Carthage regularly lead J-Term study tours 到中国. Students of all majors can study the country’s incredible history, growing economy, 和 rich 文化. Modern language majors are also required to spend at least one full semester abroad.
